The Holland Razorbacks Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Team won five first place awards recently at the regionals competition in Concord, North Carolina.

In the competition with more than 40 teams from several different states, Holland Cheer Commissioner and Peewee Team Coach Heather Berland said all three teams returned with awards.

The Tiny Mite Team (ages 5-7) won first place in Theme Dance. The Mighty Mite Cheer Team (ages 7-9) also won first place in Core Cheer and Pom Dance, while the Peewee Team (ages 10-13) won first place in Core Cheer and Pom Dance.

With these wins, the teams advance to compete at nationals Dec. 7 and 8 in Orlando Florida, she said.

“Last year was our first year as a competition team and we went all the way to nationals and brought home third place,” Berland said. “This year we are headed back to nationals to defend our title and hopefully bring home national titles for all age divisions going.”
