A Suffolk man has been arrested on charges linked to two armed robberies Monday at city businesses.

The suspect, Paul Lamont Delk of Suffolk, is charged with two counts of robbery, abduction with the intent to defile, forcible sodomy and aggravated sexual battery.  He is currently being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

On Nov. 28, 2022, the Suffolk 911 Center received a call at 7:47 a.m. reporting an armed robbery at the Rite Aid in the 500 block of N. Main Street. When officers arrived, they discovered an unknown male had entered the store, went behind the counter, brandished a knife and emptied the cash register. The man then forced the female store employee to the rear of the store and assaulted her.  The store employee sustained minor injuries, police said in a news release.  The suspect fled the scene on foot.
