The Suffolk Art Gallery’s call for entries is underway for the 39th annual Juried Photography Exhibition.

The opportunity is open to all professional and amateur photographers, ages 18 and up, the gallery said in a news release. All styles of photography in which traditional and digital processes were integral to the creation of the work will be accepted. Photography must be original, executed and altered by the photographer only.

Registration must include a completed entry form that can be found at www.suffolkva.us/photography. The entry process includes payment of $30 entry fee, completion of entry form, and submission of digital images. Entry fee may be completed through the Suffolk Parks and Recreation website or in-person at the Gallery. The entry fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit. Applicants will be notified of jurors’ decision by Feb. 3, 2023.

The Call for Entries continues through Jan. 20, 2023.

Digital images will be used to determine acceptance into the exhibit. If selected, framed images must be received at the Suffolk Art Gallery no later than 4 p.m. Feb. 26. Photographers may submit a maximum of four entries for a one-time. Local award-winning photographer and instructor, Glen McClure is the juror for this exhibit.

Awards include: Best in show, $500; second place, $300; third place, $200; and four honorable mentions, $100.

The 39th annual Juried Photography Exhibition display at the Suffolk Art Gallery runs from March 4 through April 14, 2023. The awards reception is from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 4.
