Man indicted in shooting death of stepfather

A Suffolk Circuit Court Grand Jury handed down a second-degree murder indictment in a case involving the shooting death of a local man by his stepson earlier this year.

Keavon Dionte Stowes, 19, also faces indictments for the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and a direct indictment for malicious shooting into an occupied building.

Stowes was arrested and charged in the May 30 shooting of his stepfather, 57-year-old Timothy Gene Harper, by Suffolk Police.

He is one of 34 people indicted by the Grand Jury in the 72 counts handed down Monday Nov. 28.

Others indictments returned by the Grand Jury include:

Michael David Acker — identity theft more than $100 (two counts); computer fraud; obtaining money under false pretenses; identity theft more than $500 (two counts)

Wayne Cyril Artis — Hit and run-attended (two counts)

D’andre Davon Ballard — Forgery public record (two counts); and uttering public record (two counts)

Larry Bellamy — Maiming another; hit and run with personal injury

Michael Thomas Brockmeyer — Construction fraud

Charles Henry Bryant — Assault and battery of a family member, third degree

Dashawn Donnell Butts — Possession with intent to distribute marijuana

Derek Carter — hit and run with personal injury; assault and battery on law enforcement officer

Kirsten Noel Carter — Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle

Andrell Dontravious Chambers — Possession of schedule I drugs

Edward Lee Dickerson — Prisoner delivering drugs (two counts); possession of schedule III drugs by a prisoner; unlawful possession of drugs by a prisoner

Damontae Lamar Diggs — Robbery of a business (three counts)

Dwayne Leon Ealey — Violent felon possess/transport a weapon

Aaron Richard Geister — Child neglect/abuse

Nicholas Russell Graham — Assault and battery of a law enforcement officer (two counts)

Clarence Randolph Gray III — Non-violent felon in possession of a gun; possession with intent to distribute a schedule I/II drug (two counts); possession of a firearm with a schedule I/II drug;

Derrick Lamont Holland — Possession of a schedule I drug

Raymond Hunt Jr. —  Prisoner destroying property; burning/destroying a dwelling

Levar Marki Irby — Misdemeanor capias misdemeanor driving under the influence first offense with BAC .1

Ayinde N’namdi Jenkins — Public records forgery (two counts); and uttering (two counts)

Frank Earl King — Possession of schedule I drugs

Anfernee Lovell Knight — Possession of burglary tools; destruction of property; conspiracy to commit a felony

Marshall Lee Lipscomb Jr. — Falsifying firearm purchase

Thomas Majette — Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (capias); welfare fraud (capias)

Herman L. Mayfield Jr. — Strangulation with wounding/injury

Donnie Lyndon Nibblett — Failure to appear felony (capias)

Ryan Joseph Richmond — driving without a license-driving under the influence; driving under the influence third offense within five years

Levi C. Saunders — Prescription fraud

Desmond James Steele — Elude/disregard police; transfer of a stolen vehicle

Danielle Monique Stinson — Driving while intoxicated. third offense within five years; hit and run attended; driving with a revoked license-driving under the influence; driving under the influence maiming of another person

Victoria Lynn Swinson — Assault and battery of a law enforcement officer (two counts); assault on a law enforcement officer

Corinthian Dwayne Williams — Falsifying information in the purchase of a firearm

Khalil Malik Williams — Receiving a stolen firearm; carrying a concealed weapon (two counts)
