2022 Christmas parade winners announced

The 2022 Suffolk Holiday Parade returned to the streets of Suffolk on Saturday with plenty of festive lights and holiday cheer.  The lineup was comprised of bands, floats, and marching units ringing in the evening with an abundance of spirit and fun.

This year’s parade theme was “Lights, Camera, Holiday!” and brought out the creativity of participants. Parade entries were judged in their individual categories with the following winners being named:

Best Marching/Walking Unit (non-band): I Gotchu Happy Characters

Best Float Unit: TIE: Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Weichert Realtors – KBL Companies

Best Performance Unit: Peanut City Cloggers

Best Motorized Unit: Hampton Roads Slingas

Best School Band   (1st, 2nd and 3rd place):

  •  1st Place: TIE: Nansemond River Marching Band and Kings Fork Marching Band
  • 3rd Place: Lakeland High School Marching Band

Best Non-School Band: (1st and 2nd Place):

  • 1st Place: C.V. Russell Jr. Ambassador Marching Band
  • 2nd Place: New Generation Marching Band

Best Themed Entry: Allonge Dance Academy

Best Light Display: Martina Natoli Lasman Foundation
