Suffolk native Brian Steel Wills to hold book signing for biography on actor Charlton Heston

Suffok native and author Brian Steel Wills holds a book presentation and signing of his latest publication, “Running the Race: The “Public Face” of Charlton Heston,” from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Constantia House, 509 West Washington Street.

The book is available now via Savas Beatie Publishing.

The biography recounts the life of Heston, the late Academy Award winning actor best known for his roles in biblical epics such as Moses in “The Ten Commandments,” and the titular role in “Ben-Hur.”

Dr. Wills is a graduate from both the University of Richmond and the University of Georgia. He currently serves as both director of the Center for the Study of the Civil War Era and as a professor of history at Kennesaw University in Kennesaw, Georgia. Wills is also an award-winning author of numerous publications on the American Civil War, including biographies focused on Confederate generals Nathan Bedford West and William Dorsey Pender.
