Cause of Planters Drive residential fire under investigation

Suffolk Fire and Rescue got a residential fire on Planters Drive under control within an hour of arriving on the scene Wednesday evening.
Emergency Communications dispatched Fire and Rescue at 7:29 p.m. to the 1400 block of Planters Drive for a residential structure on fire. Engine 1 arrived at 7:35 p.m. to find heavy fire showing from the roof of the residential structure.
No firefighters or civilians were injured, according to a news release. The fire was placed under control at 8:20 p.m.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office.
There were at least 17 units from Fire and Rescue and the Fire Marshal’s office that responded to the call.
