Two separate weekend shootings injured six people in what proved to be a busy weekend for Suffolk Police.

One shooting occurred in the early morning hours Monday on College Drive, while the other was early Saturday at Commerce Street. In each incident, three people were sent to local hospitals with gunshot wounds, according to Suffolk Police

Police responded to Kickback Jacks at 6110 College Dr. at 12:38 a.m., Monday, Jan. 16 where they found an adult female victim suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a police news release. The victim indicated the incident took place in the 6000 Block of Old College Drive and was a result of a physical altercation.

While officers were conducting the investigation, they learned there were additional victims. Two adult females had arrived at area hospitals and were receiving treatment for gunshot wounds, according to the release.

Two of the female victims are in critical condition at an area hospital.

Earlier in the weekend, Suffolk Police responded to the High Tide Restaurant at 130 Commerce St. after hearing multiple gunshots coming from the area at 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, according to a department news release.

Officers arrived and located two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

While conducting the investigation, officers were notified that a third victim self-transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury, according to the release.

Both investigations are ongoing and there is no suspect information available at this time. Police said there is no further information available for release.
