Grand Jury returns 127 indictments against 45 people

A Franklin man faces seven felony indictments stemming from a May 27, 2022 shooting at the QVC Distribution Center that sent one person to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

The Suffolk Circuit Court Grand Jury returned seven indictments against Alvin Edward Sears Jr. of Franklin on charges of aggravated malicious wounding, firearm possession with a protective order, nonviolent felon in possession of a gun, shooting in a public place, malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle, use of a firearm in a felony and violating a protective order.

Police arrested and charged Sears for shooting Jason Ferebee, 36, at 2:56 a.m. on May 27 while he was sitting in his car. At that time, police said the suspect and victim were “known to each other,” and the release referred to the incident as a “domestic related shooting.”

The court’s website shows that Sears remains in custody.

The Suffolk Grand Jury returned a total of 127 indictments against 45 people during its deliberations Monday, Jan. 23 in Suffolk Circuit Court. Those indicted include:

  • Jameson Calvin Arline — Falsify purchase form for a firearm
  • Jakiya Ame Artis — Elude police endangerment
  • Mikai Antonio Benton-Houston — Receiving a stolen firearm, and direct indictments (capias) for receiving/buying stolen goods, grand larceny auto and larceny of a firearm
  • James Edward Boone Jr. — Assault and battery of a family member third-plus offense
  • Alvin Ali Damieon Brown Jr. — Possession with intent to distribute marijuana greater than one ounce
  • Miranda Alyss Campbell — Direct indictment (capias) for failure to appear
  • Travis Cobriel Chalk — Possession with intent to distribution schedule I/II drugs
  • Justin Norman Chaney — Assisting with illegal purchase of a firearm (two counts), possession with intent to distribute schedule I/II drugs (two counts), possession with intent to distribute marijuana greater than one ounce, nonviolent felon possession of a gun and possession of a gun with intent to distribute/sell schedule I/II drugs
  • Ciara Clemons — Assault and battery of a law enforcement officer (three counts)
  • Quametris Quantel Coles —Assault and battery of a law enforcement officer (two counts)
  • Joshua Charles Cross — Destruction of property greater than $1,000 and possession of burglary tools
  • Marcus Grady Epps — Nonviolent felon possession of a gun (two counts), carrying a concealed weapon third-plus offense, assisting in the illegal purchase of a firearm and conspiracy firearm illegal purchase
  • Juantez Ty’ree Evans — Assault and battery of a law enforcement officer and direct indictment (capias) for assault with malicious intent to a law enforcement officer
  • Richard Phillip Ford — Statutory burglary, grand larceny greater than $1,000, possession of burglary tools, wear masks in certain places, assault and battery of a law enforcement officer (two counts)
  • Arthur Thomas Gould Jr. — assault and battery of a family member third-plus offense
  • Ashley Beth Gower — Direct indictments (capias) for larceny of a bank note and embezzlement greater than $1,000
  • Tracey Yvette Harrell — Failure to return bailed property
  • Robert Hayes — Attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer, grand larceny greater than $1,000 and assault and battery of a law enforcement officer
  • Malik Holland — Possession with intent to distribute schedule I/II drugs and possession of a gun with schedule I/II drugs
  • Traven Char’vez Jackson — Distribution of marijuana greater than ½ ounce
  • Ahshiya Shaqurius Jones — Direct indictment (capias)for embezzlement greater than $1,000, conspirancy/embezzlement and obtaining money under false pretenses (misdemeanor)
  • Krys A. Karyshyn — Attempted malicious wounding of a law enforcement officer and eluding a police officer endangerment (eight counts)
  • Darryl Lamont Knight Jr. — Eluding a police officer endangerment, carrying a concealed weapon second offense and carrying a concealed weapon third-plus offense
  • Keydran Leary — Direct indictments (capias) for child cruelty, child abuse/disregard life, child abuse/disregard life, leaving a gun loaded/endangering a child under age 14 (misdemeanor), firearm-reckless handling (misdemeanor) and contributing to the delinquency of a minor (misdemeanor)
  • Edwin George Mack — Direct indictments (capias) for aggravated sexual battery/victim under age 13 (three counts), indecent act with a child custodian (three counts) and child cruelty (three counts)
  • Chquita Renee Middleton — Child neglect/abuse
  • Jerome Emmanuel Mizell Sr. — Nonviolent felon possession of a firearm under 10 years (two counts), receiving a stolen firearm/aid in concealing, possession of schedule I/II drugs and possession of a gun with schedule I/II drugs
  • Wayne Antonio Morris — Assault and battery of a law enforcement officer
  • Gregory Lee Pelham — Malicious wounding
  • Javeaghn Dajour Robinson — Felon in possession of a weapon/ammo (not gun), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, statutory burglary (two counts) and grand larceny greater than $1,000
  • Amber Salmon — Child neglect/abuse
  • William Earl Saunders — Strangle resulting in wound/injury
  • Charlie Lee Scott — Falsify form to purchase a firearm
  • Larry Darnell Skinner Jr. — Elude police endangerment
  • Amy Marie Smith — Assault and battery of a law enforcement officer
  • James Edison Smith — Abduction, statutory burglary, robbery/using force and direct indictments (capias) for prisoner destroying property with explosive (capias) and arson/dwelling usually occupied
  • John Stephen Starcher — Direct indictments (capias) for aggravated sexual battery/victim under age 13, indecent act with a child custodian and child cruelty
  • Calina Vernesa Tucker — Bribe officers or candidates
  • Omari Carlos Ward — Concealed weapon third offense
  • Ty’shanique Lashay Warren — Direct indictments (capias) for embezzlement of more than $1,000, conspiracy/embezzlement, and obtaining money under false pretenses (misdemeanor)
  • Demita Robertson Wilkins — Falsify form to purchase a firearm
  • Devin Demetrius Williams — Possession with intent to distribute marijuana greater than one ounce, possession of schedule I/II drugs and assault and battery of a law enforcement officer,
  • Dante Lamont Williamson — Possession with intent to distribute marijuana greater than one ounce
  • Anthony Micheax Winfield Jr. — Rape by force/threat, sodomy/victim helpless-force, and direct indictments (capias) for strangle resulting in wound/injury, felon possession of firearm/ammo (not gun), abduction by force/intimidation and enticing into a dwelling
