SPS hosts career, technical education professional student conference

Suffolk Public Schools high school freshmen are preparing for the 14th annual Career and Technical Education Professional Student Conference, sponsored by the Career and Technical Education Advisory Council for Suffolk Public Schools.

The conference is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at the Hilton Garden Inn Suffolk Riverfront, 100 E Constance Rd.

The Professional Student Conference provides ninth-grade students an opportunity to interact with career-related programs offered in Suffolk Public Schools. Instructors from The College and Career Academy at Pruden engage students in work activities within the cosmetology and master barber, culinary arts, early childhood education, emergency medical technician, and medical assistant career fields.
