Suffolk Police arrest 34 in fugitive apprehension operation

Suffolk Police arrested 34 people on a total of 75 warrants in a fugitive apprehension operation Wednesday, Feb. 15.

The criminal investigations division, along with members of the fugitive unit, special investigations unit, neighborhood enforcement team, K-9, uniform patrol division and professional standards division participated in the apprehension operation, the department said in a Friday news release.

Suffolk Police Department extended its appreciation to those who helped make the apprehension operation a success, including assistance from central files, Dispatch, crime intel/intel analysts, Suffolk Magistrate’s Office and Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

Those apprehended include:

  • Shawn Danell Allen – Three probation violations, felonies
  • Demetrius Daeqwon Arline – Domestic assault, misdemeanor
  • Jeffery Brian Bishop – Assault and battery, misdemeanor 
  • Juanita Bishop – Assault and battery, misdemeanor
  • Larry James Carr – Felony grand larceny, possession of stolen property with intent
  • Raymone Markee Carroll – Destruction of property, misdemeanor; two counts assault and battery, misdemeanor; two counts failure to appear on felony offense, misdemeanor; driving suspended; resist arrest; fail to stop for police; fail to yield at intersection 
  • Derek Ray Carter – Probation violation, felony
  • Robert Leonard Collins – failure to appear on felony offense, misdemeanor
  • Betty C. Copeland – Running at large, misdemeanor
  • Trevon Lorenzo Douglas – Two counts revocation suspended sentence, felony; attempt to commit, misdemeanor; identity theft to avoid arrest, misdemeanor; forging coin and bank notes, felony; possessing forged coin/bank notes, felony; three counts abuse and neglect children, felonies; tail lights defective; fail to obey lane markings; seatbelts; defective headlights; reckless driving, misdemeanor; obstruction, misdemeanor; fleeing from law enforcement, misdemeanor; disregard police, felony; assault and battery police, felony
