Sunday morning fire displaces family of three

A family of three was displaced from their home Sunday morning after a fire damaged their residence located in the 1600 block of Mount Lebanon Avenue.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded after being dispatched by Emergency Communications at 10:16 a.m. 

Engine 5, Engine 25, Ladder 5, Battalion 2, and EMS 2 arrived at 10:23 a.m. to find heavy fire showing from the front of the single story residential structure, according to a news release. Heavy fire was located throughout the structure.

All occupants had exited the structure prior to arrival of fire crews. Heavy fire and smoke damage occurred throughout the structure. The fire was placed under control at 10:36 a.m. 

Two adults and one child are displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. No injuries to occupants or firefighters. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation, with Fire Marshal 6 leading the investigation. 

Fourteen units from Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded, along with Suffolk Police and Fire Marshall 6.
