In an unprecedented move, Suffolk City Manager Albert “Al” Moor is heading out Friday, March 24 to take part in the Great Suffolk Cleanup and is authorizing Suffolk City employees to do the same.

The two-day cleanup campaign organized by Keep Suffolk Beautiful is aimed at encouraging individuals, families, businesses and organizations to pick a spot of their choosing in Suffolk and pick up litter.

“There is no denying it, our city has a litter problem. We see it every day as we travel around,” Moor said in a news release. “I’m encouraging all city staff, organizations, businesses and residents to join me in cleaning up our roadways and neighborhoods. I am personally planning on picking up trash along Wilroy Road and I look forward to everyone choosing their desired location to remove trash.”
