Suffolk Public Works Traffic Engineering advises of an upcoming railroad crossing closure beginning Wednesday, March 8.  Norfolk Southern notified the city it would be closing the railroad crossing on County Street between Mill Street and Van Buren Avenue for maintenance and repairs.  The closure is estimated to take three working days.

The previously announced railroad crossing closure at Carolina Road between Obici Industrial Boulevard and Greenfield Crescent will be complete on Wednesday, March 8 and the roadway will be reopened at that time.

Weather dependent, the work is expected to start at 8 a.m. on March 8, and is estimated to be complete by March 10.  Public Works will provide an update closer to the date of closure.
