Mrs. Ann Senora Land, 70, of Newport News, completed her earthly assignment Friday, March 10, 2023. Land was born in Chowan County, North Carolina and educated in the Suffolk School System. Land was a 1971 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. She graduated from Norfolk State University as a mathematician and earned a second degree in computer science in 1984. Upon graduating from NSU, Land began her teaching career. She was a devoted educator for 30 years with the Suffolk Public School systems and her specialty was mathematics. She was able to open the minds of her students who struggled and give them a clear and precise understanding as only she could.

Land was predeceased by her parents, William and Beulah Yates and her husband, Larry Land. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory three children, LaQuisa McGlone (Ronnie), JoAnna Joseph (Charles) and Larry Land (Rashanda); grandchildren, Desmond McGlone (Waleska), Giovanni McGlone, Savion McGlone, Tai, Caden and Journey and one great-grandchild, Aaliyah. She also has several surviving sisters and brothers.
