Suspect in Wednesday night fatal shooting in custody after turning himself in

A Suffolk man is facing multiple felony charges including second degree murder in connection with a shooting that left one man dead Wednesday, April 5.

Suffolk Police said Thursday have arrested Rashad Pierre Lewis, 18, of Suffolk in connection with the death of 18-year-old Quadaire Jordan of Suffolk. Lewis turned himself in at police headquarters early Thursday morning.

Suffolk 911 Center received a call for service in the 900 block of Brook Avenue at 9:52 p.m. in reference to a person being shot.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located Jordan, who was lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Suffolk Fire and Rescue treated the victim on scene, and then transported him to a local hospital.

Jordan later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Police secured warrants for Lewis on charges of second degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by felon. He is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail with no bond.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time. Police said there is no further information available for release.
