Recycling merges with art for new exhibit

Re-Art, an exhibit illustrating the importance of recycling through art, opens April 28 at the Suffolk Art Gallery

Presented by Suffolk Art League and Suffolk Art Gallery, the invitational exhibit include creative reuse of objects that may not, at first glance, be considered art materials or incorporate a use outside of its initial purpose. The exhibit runs from April 29 through June 2 at Suffolk Art Gallery, 118 Bosley Ave. 

Artists participating in the exhibition include Dana Adams, Gertraud Fendler, Collette Mann, Sam Hundley, Maggie Kerrigan, Nancy Kinzinger, Barbara Kobylinska, John Tobin, Sherry Willis-Littlepage and Brenda Wright.

In addition, a balloon refuse animals exhibit created in conjunction with Keep Suffolk Beautiful and Suffolk Public Schools is planned.

The Suffolk Art Gallery is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
