Three Suffolk students recently won scholarships at ACCESS College Foundation’s College Commitment Day.

Held at the ODU Chartway Arena, two Lakeland High School and one King’s Fork High School students are recipients of this year’s scholarships.

Kanye Hayer from King’s Fork won a $5,000 scholarship from PRA Group and has committed to attending Virginia Commonwealth University next year. 

Nyeisha Savage from Lakeland won a $2,000 scholarship from Chowan University, where she will attend next year. 

Dalen Ricks also from Lakeland won a $1,000 scholarship to Tidewater Community College. 

In total, $57,000 was awarded to Hampton Road’s based students, with even more awarded as gift cards for school and dorm supplies.
