KHFS students compete in June 3 Blue Revue

The Blue Revue 2023 presentation is coming to Suffolk’s King’s Fork High School in June, presented by the women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and the Roanoke Chowan Alumnae Chapter in Ahoskie, North Carolina.

The event, which includes two Suffolk residents, is at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 3, in the KFHS auditorium..

Blue Revue is a bi-annual event in which eligible young contestants (girls or boys) of outstanding character and high moral standing are presented. These young contestants have maintained a suitable grade point average and are eligible to be recognized for scholarship purposes for this event.

This year’s event will feature seven young contestants vying for the 2023 title.

Participants include:

  • Ramayah Reese of Suffolk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Reese.  She is a junior at King’s Fork High School in Suffolk.  Her sponsor is Soror Emily Cross.
  • MacKenzie Thompson of Suffolk, daughter of Dashawn Thompson. She is a junior at King’s Fork High School in Suffolk  Her sponsor is Soror Emily Cross of Gates.
  • Jada Shakira Bond of Charlotte, North Carolina, daughter of Latrina Burden.  She is a sophomore at North West School of the Arts in Charlotte. Her sponsor is Soror Emily Cross of Gates.
  • Tamia Britt of Ahoskie, North Carolina, daughter of April Leary and Tony Britt.  She is a senior at Hertford County High School in Ahoskie. Her sponsor is Soror Precious James of Maryland.
  • Ethan Brooks, son of Soror Niccole Spruill of Chesapeake. He is a freshman at Western Branch High School in Chesapeake. His sponsor is his mother, Soror Nicole Spruill.
  • Nadia LaSandra Fennell of Aulander, North Carolina, daughter of Nicole L. Fennell. She is a sophomore at Hertford County Early College in Ahoskie.  Her sponsor is Soror Judith Boone of Murfreesboro.
  • NiJahe Malea Saunders of Gatesville, North Carolina, daughter of Ms. Danyell Saunders. She is a sophomore at Gates County High School in Gatesville. Her sponsor is Soror Precious James of Maryland.
