GFWC Junto Woman’s Club recently awarded two scholarships to graduating Suffolk high school seniors for academic achievement and community service. Junto annually awards two $1,000 scholarships.

This year the scholarships were awarded to Peyton Wise, a graduate of Lakeland High School, and Lilly Riddick, a graduate of Nansemond-Suffolk Academy. Peyton will attend Longwood University in the fall and major in education with the goal of becoming a teacher.  Riddick will attend the University of Mary Washington to study biomedical science with a minor in sports management to pursue a career in physical therapy.

The GFWC Junto Woman’s club has been serving the community of Suffolk for 95 years and members said they are pleased to continue their support of the city’s future generation of leaders.
