A Carrolton woman and her dog were killed Tuesday, Feb. 1, on Route 10 in Isle of Wight County. Virginia State Police says Amber L. Gibson, 35, of Carrollton, and the dog died at the scene when a 2002 Toyota 4Runner struck the Gibson as they were walking in the roadway. The vehicle was driven by Kayln C. Kittredge, 33, of Suffolk. VSP says Gibson was not wearing reflective clothing, and neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
