NSA student charged following Monday lockdown

SUFFOLK – The juvenile taken into custody regarding this matter, has been charged with Possession of a Weapon on School Property.
The incident remains under investigation and there is no further information available for release at this time.
On February 24, 2025, Suffolk Police responded to the 3300 block of Pruden Boulevard in reference to a firearm located on the campus of Nansemond Suffolk Academy.
Upon arrival, officers located the firearm in a bag in a student’s locker. Suffolk Police swiftly took the student into custody.
NSA was placed on lockdown during this incident. No one was injured and it is not believed there is any ongoing threat to the school.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing and there is no further information available for release at this time.
