Elizabeth Littlejohn Pitt

Elizabeth Littlejohn Pitt, departed on February 23, 2025.  A lifelong Christian serving at Metropolitan Baptist church, she attended East Suffolk High School and graduated in 1946.  Elizabeth attended Elizabeth City Teachers College which is now Elizabeth City State University and graduated with a B.Ed. in 1950.  She taught in Georgia for one year and in 1952 joined Suffolk Public Schools, teaching at Mary Estes, Holland Primary and Kilby Shores Elementary School.  She retired in 1985 after 32 years of dedicated service. 

 In 1956, she married Syvalius Pitt and had a daughter, Tonya.  She and her late husband Syvalius were married 52 years.  Elizabeth leaves to mourn, her daughter Tonya Pitt-Staab, son-in-law Bishop Jay Staab and step-grandsons Joseph and Richard Staab and Step-Granddaughter Kristi-Anne Staab, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. 

 Metropolitan Funeral Services in Suffolk will be handling the arrangements.  Funeral will be held on March 8, 2025 at 11:am at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Suffolk, Virginia.
