Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 5900 blk. of Bradford Drive for a reported residential fire. Emergency Communications dispatched the incident at 10:50 a.m. 

Engine 25 arrived at 10:55 a.m. to find heavy fire showing from a detached garage. Engine 25 attacked the fire while Engine 5 protected the exposure, an occupied single story residence.  No fire extension to the residence.  The detached garage, a 15’ by 24’ structure, was damaged by fire with most of the fire damage contained to the front and exterior of the garage.  The fire was placed under control at 11:04 a.m. 

There are no injuries and the cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office with Fire Marshal 3 leading the investigation.
