Arrest made, victim identified in homicide case near Seaboard Trail

SUFFOLK – Suffolk Police advise that Mark Anderson, 49, of Chesapeake, was arrested on March 17.
On March 14, Suffolk Police responded to the 200 block of Suburban Drive for an assist medic call. Suffolk Emergency Communications received the call at approximately 2:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, an adult male was found and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following initial investigations, it was determined the body of the male was left at the scene by another subject. Suffolk Police identified secured the following warrants for Mark Anderson, 49, of Chesapeake, in relation to this investigation: Felony Murder, Distribution of Narcotics, Disposal of Human Remains, and Concealment of a Dead Body.
Anderson was located in Raleigh, North Carolina, and taken into custody. He is currently being extradited back to Virginia.
Suffolk Police said it would like to thank it’s law enforcement partners from multiple neighboring jurisdictions who assisted in locating and arresting Anderson.
Suffolk Police advise that following the notification of next of kin, the decedent in this incident has been identified as Jason Spencer, 43, of Suffolk.
This is an ongoing investigation and there is no other information available for release at this time.
