Suffolk Parks & Recreation Announces Annual Outdoor Movie Series

Suffolk Parks & Recreation is set to launch its annual outdoor movie series, Saturday Cinema, with seven movie nights scheduled throughout the spring and summer. The series will kick off on Saturday, April 26, at Downtown Festival Park, located at 215 W. Washington St., with a screening of Wicked (2024, PG). Activities will begin at 6 p.m., and the movie starts at 8 p.m.

Following the opening night, the series will continue with additional movie screenings at various locations, each accompanied by themed activities prior to the films:

  • May 10: Moana 2 (PG) at Bennett’s Creek Park, 3000 Bennetts Creek Park Rd. Activities begin at 6:15 p.m., movie starts at 8:15 p.m.

  • June 28: Mufasa (PG) at Holland Ballfields, 6720 Ruritan Blvd. Activities begin at 6:30 p.m., movie starts at 8:30 p.m.

  • July 26: Despicable Me 4 (PG) at Bennett’s Creek Park, 3000 Bennetts Creek Park Rd. Activities begin at 6:15 p.m., movie starts at 8:15 p.m.

  • August 23: Inside Out 2 (PG) at Downtown Festival Park, 215 W. Washington St. Activities begin at 5:45 p.m., movie starts at 7:45 p.m.

  • September 27: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (PG) at Holland Ballfields, 6720 Ruritan Blvd. Activities begin at 5 p.m., movie starts at 7 p.m.

  • October 11: Ghostbusters (1984, PG) at Bennett’s Creek Park, 3000 Bennetts Creek Park Rd. Activities begin at 4:45 p.m., movie starts at 6:45 p.m.
