Loretta Bathe Lamb, 85, passed away May 24, 2025. She was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, the daughter of the late Oscar and Wellena Bathe. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Alvin Ray Lamb; son, Douglas Lamb; and siblings, Eugene Bathe, Daniel Bathe, Ruth Pinkston and Patricia Carpenter. Lorretta retired as manager for Greenhaus, Riordan & Co, CPAs in New Milford, CT. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Faith and family were the most important things in her life and she expressed that by serving as a deaconess and teaching Sunday School in previous churches. She and Ray started a church in New Milford in their living room and Loretta created a bible study group at the assisted living facility where she lived. In her free time, she loved to paint and to teach painting. Putting together puzzles was also a favorite pastime.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Robyn Meloy (Richard); grandaughter, Sophie Ann Ceceal Meloy; her son Douglas’s children, Nicole Wrench (Chris), and Tabitha Miesell (Rob); siblings, Betty Aldridge, Rebecca Sprague, Mary Stanley, Joseph Bathe, and Paul Bathe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1637 Holland Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434 with Pastor Braydon Conboy officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Suffolk & Isle of Wight, Inc. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
