According to the Food and Drug Administration, thousands of pounds of Suffolk-based Massimo Zanetti Beverage coffee have been recalled for mislabeling.

The company has voluntarily recalled Our Family Traverse Ground Coffee because certain bags of the “caffeinated” variety were mislabeled as “decaffeinated.”

The recalled coffee is Our Family Traverse City Cherry Artificially Flavored Decaf Light Roast Ground Coffee, sold in 12-ounce bags with the UPC number 0 70253 11080.

The recall was initiated on March 13, 2025, as a Class II recall, which, according to the FDA, “is a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

According to the recall, the affected bags were sold in 15 states: Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Suffolk News-Herald reached out to Massimo Zanetti for comment but has not yet received a response.
