Carol Sweet Dunn

Carol Sweet Dunn, 74 of Suffolk, VA passed away April 7, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Maurice and Catherine Sweet. She is predeceased by her daughter, Tanya J. Davis; sister, Maxine Sweet; brother, Michael Sweet, Sr.; and grandchild, Thomas Gentry.

Carol was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was a nurse for the Army and was working at Fitzsimon Hospital in Denver, Colorado where she met the love of her life, James. They were together for 3 months before they began their 56 year long marriage. She then worked security at Obici Hospital for 27 and a half years before she retired. Carol enjoyed reading and was a member of a Parkinson’s Group in Chesapeake.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, James; son, Robert Dunn (Rebecca) of Franklin; daughter, Kristen Jeffers (Timothy) of Suffolk; and grandchild, Caitlin Gentry.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Friday, April 11, 2025 at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends the night before at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, Downtown Suffolk Chapel from 5:30-7 PM. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
