Bon Secours Harbour View Medical Center is set to open on May 6, 2025, and will include exciting new technologies bringing high-quality compassionate care closer to home. Located at 1020 Bon Secours Drive in Suffolk, the state-of-the-art hospital will expand upon existing emergency and outpatient services creating a fully integrated medical center.
Bon Secours invites you and your family to join them for a Community Open House on Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. for tours, refreshments, and surprises.
The new medical center will feature private inpatient rooms and four cutting-edge operating rooms, bringing specialized care and advanced services to the northern Suffolk community. Now, patients will no longer have to travel for hospital or surgical care, and can receive imaging, laboratory, and emergency services all in one convenient location.
Private pre-operative and recovery rooms will ensure a comfortable experience for patients and a supportive environment with compassionate, patient-centered nurses providing care every step of the way.
New artificial intelligence systems, the first of its kind in the Hampton Roads region, can increase patient safety by alerting nurses in real-time of potential risks and create direct communication between the patient and their nurse. This technology can keep patients more informed about their care and allow nurses to spend more time with their patients.
Andy Spicknall, a ten-year veteran with Bon Secours, serves as the first president of Bon Secours Harbour View Medical Center. “Our goal is to create a healing environment that integrates state-of-the-art technology to improve patient safety while staying deeply committed to patient-centered care,” said Spicknall. “We’re excited to open our doors on May 6 to patients who will now have access to hospital and surgical care in their own community.”
In 1999, Bon Secours was the first health system in the region to respond to the population growth in Western Hampton Roads by establishing the Bon Secours Health Center at Harbour View, which has improved access to outpatient healthcare services in the community for over 25 years.
Within 10 years of opening, Bon Secours Health Center at Harbour View expanded to include a free-standing emergency department and additional outpatient services to meet the growing needs of the city.
Bon Secours’ mission-centered approach is what sets them apart in the healthcare industry.
Their mission is to extend the compassionate ministry of Jesus by improving the health and well-being of our communities and bring good help to those in need, especially people who are poor, dying and underserved.
Their vision, inspired by God’s hope for the world, is to work to be a ministry where associates want to work, clinicians want to practice, people seek wellness and communities thrive.
Bon Secours Harbour View Medical Center will join other Bon Secours hospitals in Newport News, Portsmouth, and Franklin.
