Suffolk Man Arrested in Connection with March Racing and Shooting Incident

The Suffolk Police Department has announced the arrest of a 21-year-old Suffolk man in connection with a March incident involving vehicle racing and gunfire.
Marques Boneparte was taken into custody on April 15, 2025, following an investigation into events that unfolded on March 5, 2025. According to the Suffolk Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of King’s Fork Road after receiving reports of two vehicles racing and shots being fired. Shortly after police arrived in the area, one of the vehicles crashed into a nearby wooded area.
One individual involved in the incident was transported to a local hospital with injuries sustained from the crash, authorities said.
Boneparte is facing several charges, including Shooting at an Occupied Vehicle, Shooting from a Vehicle, Use of a Firearm in Committing a Felony, and Attempted Malicious Wounding.
Authorities continue to encourage anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
