Barbara Bradshaw Nelms

Barbara Bradshaw Nelms, 94 of Suffolk, VA passed away May 4, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Rosser and Sarah Edith Bradshaw. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Robert L. Nelms; son, Robert W. Nelms; and brother, Henry Gayle Bradshaw. Barbara was a lifetime member as well as one of the oldest members of Oakland Chrisitan United Church of Christ in Chuckatuck.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, David B. Nelms (Molly); grandchildren, Sarah Nelms-Brock (EJ), Ashley Nelms, Matthew Nelms, and Abagayle Nelms; and 4 great grandchildren, Reese, Alana, Dylan and Ezrah.

A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Jason Stump on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 11 AM in Oakland Christian United Church of Christ. The family will receive friends in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Downtown Suffolk Chapel on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 7-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Becky Godwin Memorial Scholarship Fund at Oakland Christian Church, PO Box 2008, Suffolk VA 23432.
