Suffolk to Host Stars and Stripes Spectacular on July 4

SUFFOLK — The City of Suffolk’s annual Fourth of July celebration will return to Constant’s Wharf Park & Marina on Friday, July 4, with a free evening of live music, food trucks, family activities and fireworks.
The Stars and Stripes Spectacular will feature live music by Popwire from 6 to 9 p.m. Fireworks will follow at 9 p.m., lighting up the sky over the Nansemond River.
Admission is free and open to all ages. Food trucks will be on-site, and items will be available for purchase, including beer for guests age 21 and older. A valid ID is required for alcohol sales.
A Kid’s Area will include bounce houses, face painting, glitter and airbrush tattoos, bubbles and yard games. A cooling tent and free water bottles will be available to help attendees stay cool in the summer heat.
Guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for seating. However, on-site parking will not be available.
Shuttle service will be provided from two downtown locations: First Baptist Church, 237 N. Main St., and the Godwin Courthouse Building, 150 N. Main St. Shuttles will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and resume after the fireworks.
