Joseph Warren Taylor, born on July 18, 1962 to William R. Taylor and Christine D. Taylor, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025. Joe grew up in Norfolk, graduated from Norview High where he played a cello in the band and even played at Carnegie Hall.
He worked for Waters and Martin for 19 years, during that time he volunteered at CHKD reading to terminally ill children for several years. He worked for FlowServe for over 20 years until his passing. Joe met and married the love of his life Kathy on May 7, 1988 and had two children, Joshua and Hannah.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill. He is survived by his wife and soulmate Kathy; son, Joshua Taylor (Mary); daughter, Hannah Taylor (CJ); brother, Alan Taylor (Carol); sisters, Janet Cowan (Bobby Casper) and Patty Werner (John); brother in law, Rusty Edwards (Leslie); sister in law, Anne Austin (Rick); several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 2PM at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Downtown Suffolk Chapel with a visitation held an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk, Va. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
