Suffolk Public Schools honored 12 General Education Development graduates on Wednesday, June 18 at Lakeland High School. Guest speaker Nick Wright spoke about how this graduation is just the first of many accomplishments the graduates will have.
Wright graduated from Nansemond River High School and attended Old Dominion University on a four-year athletic scholarship. After graduating, he played professional basketball for three years internationally. Now, Wright is the Career and Technical Education teacher at Nansemond River.
Kings Fork had seven graduates, Lakeland had three, and Nansemond River had two.
