Mr. James T. Goodwyn Sr., of Suffolk, departed this earthly life on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010. He is predeceased by his brother Willie Goodwyn Jr., and one sister, Della Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Inez Goodwyn, and his daughters, Annette Vaughan (Alvester), of Suffolk, Lola Smith (Willie), of Windsor, Mary Harris (David), Jeanette Riddick (Joseph), Vanessa Goodwyn (Ricardo), all of Suffolk and Lisa Jones (Gerrell), also of Windsor, as well as his son, James Goodwyn Jr., of Suffolk. He will be missed by his 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A funeral of triumph will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at 1 p.m. at St Mary’s COGIC, 3637 Nansemond Parkway. Burial will be immediately following the service at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at Harris Funeral Home, Inc., 685 Carolina Road, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends at 1423 Pinto Court, Suffolk.
