Atline Strachan, 4209 Swananoa Drive, Portsmouth departed this earthly life on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Rosa Vann, her husband Edward Strachan, sister Irma Lee Williams and daughter, Sally Ann Vann.

Her survivors include: her daughter, Barbara Williams of Portsmouth; two sons, William Donald “Duck” Vann (Margaret) of Suffolk and Charles Lewis of Portsmouth; one sister, Minerva Hall; one brother, Clinton Vann; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

A funeral of triumph will be held on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. A.E. Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with the home-going service.
