Mrs. Lucille Carroll of Newport News, (formerly of Suffolk) departed this earthly life on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at her residence.

A retiree from Planters Peanut, she is the widow of William Lee Carroll and pre-deceased by her parents, Tommy Williams and Mary Peterson, Brother Rushalee Williams and her son, William Lee Carroll Jr.

She is survived by her five children, Mary Elizabeth Clarke (James) of Brooklyn, N.Y., Rosa L. Bivins (Junior) of Suffolk, Tommy Carroll and George L. Carroll (Bertha) also of Suffolk and Lisa Loyd (William) of Newport News. She will be lovingly missed by her sister, Willie Mae Wiggins of Franklin, along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A Funeral of Triumph will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at Faith Temple Ministries (Apostolic) at 1 p.m. Interment will be immediately following the service at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Harris Funeral Home, 685 Carolina Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter Rosa Bivins, 502 South Broad Street, Suffolk, and Lisa Loyd’s residence, 51 Welleselly Drive, Apt. 109, Newport News.
