On May 11-12, Jeff Wolf will be the man behind the microphone as he will call the action for the third consecutive year at the Gates County Championship Rodeo.
For Wolf, it marks a return trip to Gates County from last year’s event. He also previously worked the local event in another aspect.
“I was at the Gates County Rodeo five to six years ago, where I worked as the rodeo clown,” he said. “I really enjoyed my stay in Gates County. It may be small in size, but the people up there really support the event. The crowds were huge when I was there.”
After trying his hand at rodeo bullfighting and a short stint as a rodeo clown, Wolf has focused his career on announcing.
The 14-year veteran, who calls Mebane, N.C., his home, now works more than 75 events every year.
“I’ll go to where the work is, but most of my jobs are east of the Mississippi River,” he said.
