To the editor:

The issues and interests of our veterans stand among the most critical and important we face, and we need to protect them in the upcoming election.

Congressman Randy Forbes has demonstrated his commitment to our veterans and their families in countless ways. He has supported pay increases for active duty service members and job assistance to veterans returning to the workforce, and he fought cuts to retirement and health care benefits.

In addition, he keeps fighting for improvement for health care facilities, including a rural clinic providing care in Emporia.

Finally, the congressman continues to fight the impending proposals putting financial burdens on the backs of our service members, demonstrating what we all know — our veterans are a national treasure.
