On Dec. 5, 2012, John “Peter” Lawrence Sr. of Laurel, Md., peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord at his residence. Peter was originally from Suffolk, Va.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Joseph Lawrence, Myra Pitts (Michael), John M. Lawrence Jr. and Sherry Blue; siblings, Floyd Lawrence, William Lawrence, Obelia and Rosa Mae Grandison (Ed); other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. before the 11 a.m. service on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 6100 Holy Neck Road, Suffolk, VA 23437. Interment will be in Mt.
