Woman charged in credit card theft

A Suffolk woman turned herself in on charges of credit card theft, credit card fraud and identity theft after seeing her photo broadcast on local media.

Kelisha Alexis Branch, 26, reported herself on Dec. 6.

The incident in which she is charged happened Nov. 2, when a woman accidentally left her purse at a business on Hillpoint Road. She returned within an hour to retrieve it but could not find it.

The victim later learned that her credit card, which was kept in the purse, had been used at a grocery store in the 2800 block of Godwin Boulevard within two hours of the theft.

A person had used the card to purchase $408 worth of groceries, according to a city news release.
