One man is dead after a shooting early Monday morning, and police have no suspect information yet.

Police responded to a call shortly after 2 a.m. at a residence in the 800 block of Dutch Road, city spokeswoman Debbie George said.

The victim, 27-year-old William Kendale Jordan, of the same block, had been shot multiple times, George said. A police report said he was found in the garage. He was transported by ground ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he later died.

The one-story home in the rural southwestern part of the city is decorated for Christmas with candy canes, bows, garland and icicle lights. Police were still at work on the scene Monday afternoon.

No one answered the door Monday afternoon at the home’s three closest neighbors.

Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.

As a reader, this article leaves much unanswered. We are left to assume that since the victim lives down the block, he was just randomly found inside this home’s garage. Nothing is said about whether the people who lived there knew the victim, did they hear anything, how did they come about finding him? When did they find him? What were the circumstances?
