IWA falls to Williamsburg

Defending VISAA Div. III Champion Williamsburg Christian showed why it is a favorite for another title this year, defeating Isle of Wight Academy 73-31 Friday night.

The Eagles raced out to a 23-12 first-quarter lead and never looked back. WCA’s Dirk Williams tossed in a pair of three-pointers during that period, among five made by his team during that stretch. Williams finished with 16 points. Eagles star Jake Duncan had a game-high 23 points. Mark Seaman added 16 points; teammate Brian Williams had 11.

IWA was led by Casey Williams and Jackson Goodman, both with six points, who had seven and five rebounds, respectively.

The Chargers suffered their second loss in the Metro Athletic Conference in four decisions. They are 7-2 overall. Williamsburg is a perfect 5-0 in the Metro, 7-2 overall.
