Police determined the man, who was 40 at the time, “had struck his juvenile son, age 14 at the time of the offense, in the face, in addition to choking him to the extent that the son vomited,” city spokeswoman Diana Klink wrote in an email.

The alleged motivation for the attack is that the teen was on the computer and his father wanted him off, Klink said.

The incident also allegedly occurred in the presence of a juvenile sibling, Klink said. The victim was treated at Sentara Obici Hospital.
