IWA soccer moves to 3-0-1

Four games into its season, the Isle of Wight Academy varsity soccer team is 3-0-1.

In its first game, against Kenston Forest, IWA won 8-1. Leading the Chargers in scoring was Josh Weihe with three goals. Corey Holleman, Justin Cobb, Josh Weihe contributed one apiece, and Cobb and Weihe added an assist each. Nathan Siverston had 14 saves.

Against Greenbrier Christian, the Chargers won 3-1. Scorers were Weihe, Holleman and Siverston. Cobb and Holleman each had an assist.

Against Southampton Academy, the Chargers played to a 3-3 tie in overtime. Weihe scored two goals, and Dylan Poe scored one. Cobb had one assist, and Siverston had 36 saves.

In the fourth game of the season, against Blessed Sacrament, IWA won 4-0. Weihe scored three goals, and Cobb had one. Holleman and Brooke Olsavicky both had assists, and Siverston had 17 saves.

The next game will be at 4 p.m. April 10 at IWA against Fuqua.
