With a win in the season’s last 50-lap Top Dog event, Scott Prillaman of Suffolk put the finishing touch on his second career Pro Series championship as Arena Racing USA wrapped up its 2012-13 campaign on Saturday in Richmond.

The victory was his series-leading 11th of the season.

Lin O’Neill, the B-Main winner from earlier in the night, led the first 15 laps before surrendering the top spot to Prillaman, who was out front from lap 16 to the finish. Travis Wall was second to the line, followed by Jason Styron, Jason Manes and John Nickens.

Tripp Thurston finished in sixth place, while Scott Allen, Megan Creech, Nathan Thomas and O’Neill rounded out the top 10. Cayton Hornberger, Albert Falk, John Alford and Tyler Daniels were credited with 11th through 14th, respectively.

Pending a double-check of the final standings, and discarding each driver’s two worst finishes (or missed races), Prillaman claimed the title by 45 points over Robbie Davis, 336-291. Styron was third, two behind Davis with 289. Manes was fourth with 276, followed by Dylan Loving with 262.

Prillaman won his previous Pro Series championship during the 2007-2008 season, when events were held at the Norfolk Scope and the Hampton Coliseum.
