Get ready to shake, rattle and roll

The annual Shake, Rattle & Roll car show will be held Saturday on Main Street in downtown Suffolk. Hundreds of pre-1975 vehicles will be featured, and entertainment and contests for spectators will be held throughout the day. Suffolk Raceway memorabilia also will be on display.
Suffolk’s Main Street will be closed off this Saturday for a stroll down memory lane.
The annual Shake, Rattle & Roll Spring Car Show will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hundreds of pre-1975 vehicles will be on display to pay tribute to the racers, records and fans of the quarter-mile concrete Suffolk Raceway that formerly operated at the Suffolk airport.
Suffolk Raceway memorabilia and live music by The Heather Edwards Band will be featured. Children of all ages can participate in hula-hoop contests.
Awards for the car show, which will be presented at 2 p.m., will include Best in Show, People’s Choice, Top 20 and five specialty categories.
The car show is free to spectators and open to the public.
