An angel came down from Heaven and called home our beloved husband, father, uncle, son, brother and friend. Byron J. Bennett (“B”), of 406 St. James Ave. Suffolk, entered into eternal rest on June 20, 2013, in Powhatan. He was born the sixth child of Deloris Bennett. He was predeceased by his sister, Pamela A. Bennett, and a nephew, Kenneth D. Sawyer. Byron attended Suffolk Public Schools.

He leaves to cherish his memory a wife, Janeen A. Bennett, of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Kirstyn Askew, of Virginia Beach, and Asinia Bennett, of Suffolk; one step-son, Domonique Askew, of Virginia Beach; his mother, Deloris B. Hayes and step-father, Leon Hayes, both of Suffolk; two sisters, Vanessa Newsome and Felicia Artis (Terrell), both of Suffolk; three brothers, Henry Bennett (Kim), Leon Hayes, Travis Hayes, all of Suffolk; two aunts, Elnora Chambliss, of Suffolk, and Shirley Adkins, of Emporia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.vharrisfuneralhome.com.
