NRHS’ Lindsay to attend youth forumPublished 5:22pm Saturday, July 6, 2013
Briana Lindsay, a 2013 graduate of Nansemond River High School, was selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine.
The National Youth Leadership Forum was founded in 1992, and it helps to prepare young people for their academic future and professional careers in the areas of law, medicine and national security.
The forum is held in 18 cities throughout the United States, and Briana received an institutional scholarship to attend the forum that will be held in Washington, D.C. July 14-23.
By attending this medical forum, she will experience a hands-on, interactive curriculum that includes shadowing practicing physicians, clinical site visits at the nation’s top medical centers and meeting with faculty from world-renowned medical institutions.
High-achieving high school students who meet the academic requirements are nominated to attend the NYLF programs by educators, organization advisors, alumni, participating institutions or through classroom surveys.
Briana was also a recent honor graduate from the Pruden Center for Industry and Technology’s Certified Nursing Assistant Program in June and plans to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Registered Nursing in the fall.
